Community Auction for Theatre Arts (C.A.F.T.A.) will raise money during its biennial community-supported auction on October 24, 2009 to be held at the Great Wolf Lodge, Grand Mound, WA. A silent auction with open bar will begin at 6:00pm, followed by dinner at 7:00pm (sit-down dinner features salmon and grilled fillet mignon) and a live oral auction at 8:00pm. A per-person fee of $50.00 covers dinner costs.
CAFTA was founded in 1972 to raise money for the Evergreen Playhouse and to purchase a new building. When that goal was reached in ’79 the CAFTA Board decided to continue raising money for The Evergreen Playhouse and other Lewis County performing and fine arts organizations.
CAFTA’s 2009 goal includes raising $76,000 to meet the needs of the following recipient organizations:
Centralia Arts in the Schools
Evergreen Playhouse
Southwest Washington Dance Center
R.E. Bennett Elementary School/Third Grade Class Trip
Northwest Wind Symphony
Evergreen Academy of Arts and Sciences/Instruments
Historic Fox Theatre Restoration
Lewis County Community Concerts
Fire Mountain Arts Council
Centralia College Foundation
W.F. West High School Theatre Department
