The Cemetery Club by Ivan Menchell

The Cemetery Club is a play about enduring friendship and love. It follows three longtime friends who are all widows. They form a “cemetery club” that meets regularly at their husbands graves, with lunch and banter afterwards. All three women have very different personalities and life experiences, which sometimes lead to conflicts, but the common experiences that they share draw them closer even as life carries on. This play takes the dark subject of loss, and using witty dialogue and humour, reminds us that through all things, friendship has a greater value than we can ever fully know.

Directed by Norma Rogers and Melinda Brein

Cast:

Anne Schuchmann – Ida

Cathy Russell – Lucille

Sue Sincock – Doris

Tom Lockhart – Sam

Andrea Lochbaum – Mildred

Joli Winsett – Stage Manager

What would this play be “rated”? We’d like to bring friends but don’t want anything with bad language, sexual content, etc. Is it a comedy?

This is a comedy with some adult references, I would rate it PG, possible PG13. Thank You for your interest.
